ABOUT THE GLOBAL MODERN SLAVERY DIRECTORY

The Global Modern Slavery Directory (GMSD) is a collaborative effort to identify and map organizations working on human trafficking, modern slavery, and related issues around the world. The goal is to create a resource that individuals and organizations can use to connect with a range of actors who are tackling human trafficking globally. We aim to include non-governmental organizations (NGOs), multilateral institutions, government agencies, and law enforcement agencies, among others.

To ensure the GMSD can meet its goal of providing up-to-date and high quality referrals to meet survivors' unique needs, every application is reviewed and vetted prior to being added to the GMSD. Organizations interested in being included in the database are asked to complete the following form. Only authorized staff members from the organization should complete this form. Organizations that already exist in the GMSD will be asked to complete an annual update process, reviewing and updating all fields on this form to ensure accuracy as well as to fill in newly added information aimed to improve the referral process for survivors.

The GMSD does not endorse or certify organizations included in our database. Your answers to the questions listed below will help us to determine if your agency meets the minimum criteria for inclusion, and to ensure that you are receiving the appropriate referrals based on your mission, capacity, and service area. By being included in the Global Modern Slavery Directory, it is expected that your organization will accept referrals about international situations from the US Trafficking Hotline. This includes willingness to receive tips (via email) from the US Trafficking Hotline as well accept warm transfers where your staff will first briefly interact with Hotline Advocates who are expected to confirm general capacity and fit prior to connecting the survivor to the call and disconnecting for privacy of the further conversation or intake. When survivors are comfortable, the Hotline acts as this mediator initially to remove the need for survivors to share their experience when general barriers exist preventing entrance to a program.
